Hey Guys, I am currently a sophomore at UCF, and I just got accepted to UF as a transfer. Would I be foolish to give up the opportunity?

I get $2000 a year from UCF, so it covers 70-80% of tuition, but tuition at UF is around $400 cheaper per year, so it is only a difference, over the course of two years, of around $3200.

I would like to eventually enter law school and possible med school. Should I stay or should I go?

Any input would be greatly appreciated...

I'd figure out what you want to do and work towards that. I want to go to med/law school screams I just want money (niether of which are nearly as universally well off as society at large thinks).

Doing poorly on the med-meter classes and applying to law school basically shouts this out. Contrarily, lots of liberal-arts pre-law, philisophy, polysci type courses aren't what med schools are looking for.

You need to decide what you want to do (and make sure want to do it for the right reasons), and then you can formulate better plans in regard to attaining these goals.

"Contrarily, lots of liberal-arts pre-law, philisophy, polysci type courses aren't what med schools are looking for."

Not true. They appreciate non-science enrichment, as long as you still complete the prerequisites for med school.

Though I do agree that if you're wavering between these two, it looks like you're in it only for the money (though I know that's not always the case).

Well basically, I love the study of the law, but I feel I would make a better doctor than a lawyer. My dream would be to be a vascular reconstructive surgeon, and I have been working towards that, its just that medical school admissions are daunting, to say the least.

So why do I even mention law school? Medical malpractice is getting scary, and I thought it might be a good idea. At this point, I am merely keeping my options open, and while in this process, I figured it would be good to see if I should stay at UCF or go to UF (whose anthropology department is much more prestigious).

I am currently a dual anthropology/biology major w/ a psych minor. I have done well in all my pre-med classes, I guess the bottom line is I am confused, and want to keep my options open...so I was trying to just see waht you thought from that point of view...sort of like which option you all felt would maximize my possibilities...

Whatever school you can go to which allows you to double-major and minor, with biology in the mix, is worth staying at. O_O If the other school also allows you to do this, however, and you feel that the added prestige is worth the hassle of changing schools to you, then I say go for it.

Ultimately, you know what's best. If you are undecided about your goals, though, I would hesitate to move to a school that has a 'worse' program in any of the three you're involved in.
