Should I trust the ACT Prep Guide (red book)'s practice tests?

I just went through the red book (The Real ACT Prep Guide) in preparation for next week's ACT and these are my results:

Practice Test #1:
E: 33
M: 32
R: 36
S: 35

C: 34

Practice Test #2:
E: 33
M: 34
R: 36
S: 30

C: 33

Practice Test #3:
E: 31
M: 35
R: 36
S: 36

C: 35

(BTW I also took the February ACT and I received a composite score of 33.)

The only consistent scores on my practice test are the Math sections; the others seem pretty jumpy to me. Should I still trust my most recent practice test score? What do you think?

Oh, and I didn't take all these tests in the same week. Practice tests 1 and 2 were early February, and I just took #3 yesterday after reviewing a little.

So is this forreal? Because I would definitely be happy going into Saturday with a 35 C on a practice test!

Those are your best gauge. Those were previous tests so they will resemble what you will make on the real thing. They have another test you can print off of the ACT website. Print that and do it and see what you get.

Those and actual tests taken are the ONLY ones you should trust.

i find the questions in the red book (especially the reading section) very difficiult

Those are, after all, real ACTs, as the book is so aptly titled. I’m sure that they are the most accurate gauge as to how you will perform next week.

Good luck!
