I am so anxious because I got accepted to a private school I really want to go to (Seattle University). Idk how much money I will be getting yet, but I know my efc is 0, I'm an independent, and I'm a minority. I got accepted to cal states, but I actually want a college life and with my stats, I'm not going to get accepted into a UC. Do you think it would be reasonable to attend Seattle even if it is more expensive.Do you think they will give me enough aid? This is a college I really want to attend.

I just want some advice/ thoughts because even though I am accepted, I am going crazy wondering if I will be able to actually attend.

Are you male or female? If you’re male, you might have a better chance at getting a better FA package since Seattle U wants more males.

Which URM are you?

Since you say that your stats aren’t high enough to get accepted to UCs, that doesn’t suggest that you’re likely going to get the best FA package.

Well so far I received a $7,000 scholarship today, but still not the whole financial aid package. I’m Mexican and I meant I won’t get into a UC that I actually want to go to, like Irvine. I guess all I can do is wait.

Oh and Erin’s Dad, I still need to talk to my dad about how much he is going to contribute. But it seems like he’s not going to keep his word and might not help me at all. But I only see like every 3 months so I really don’t know, but he does make good money.

If not, you won’t get aid from OOS publics. My honest advice for getting great aid is to apply to a third or fourth tier Liberal Arts College out east-ish (midwest would probably be best). They need diversity, and sometimes will pay through the nose to get it.

List a specific major/field of interest and we all can give you better info :)
