In highschool, I wasn't that good of a student and didnt really apply myself to school very much because I didn't want to be a "nerd". Anyways I unsurprisingly got rejected from most of my schools and now i go to my big 10 state school (Iowa). I started as an English major and thought I would do badly in college just like high school, surprisinglly I got a 4.0 my first semester. Also in my first semester I took a biology class (for non-science majors) with the same professor who teaches the pre-meds and really enjoyed it.

Now I'm wondering if I should try pre-med, especially because I had wanted to be a doctor but always thought i was not smart enough for it.

In high school I thought I wasn't very good at science at all, so I'm still unsure. Also, if I do decide to add pre-med to my degree I will be starting the pre-med track as sophmore, so could I still graduate within 4 years or is it not possible?

Is it possible to start as a sophomore and graduate in 4 years? Absolutely.

That’s the least of your concerns.

I think you need to start figuring out if being a doctor is the right career for you. It’s not something that you just decide one day because you liked one single biology prof. You need to do some more exploration of the process, try some more science courses and generally find out as much as you can. Search the forums on this site, look at the premed FAQ, ask more questions if somethings not clear and then decide if going pre-med is the correct choice.

I think it would be wise to do this in the broader context of just exploring career options in general - not only about medicine (or other health care fields like pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, physician assistants, physical therapy, etc), but also about lots of other fields so you can make an informed decision that’s really right for you.
