I am planning to apply to Duke ED this fall and am in a dilemma. I read on Duke’s website regarding multiple test scores that they consider the highest score, regardless of test type and date. I took both the SAT and ACT, and found that the SAT worked much better for me than the ACT, mainly due to the time constraints the ACT has. I figured if I dedicated my attention to just the SAT, I could get a decent score, hopefully high enough for Duke. BUT, my ACT score was terrible for Duke. I know they said they only consider highest score, but I already sent them my ACT score that had a reading score in the mid 20’s, and I figured that would be pretty hard to ignore. Should I retake the ACT just to raise my score a few points, or should I just focus on getting a high SAT score? I don’t want to waste my time studying for something that won’t make a difference (as long as I have a high SAT score) Thanks!
In my opinion, focus on the SAT- usually test scores are looked at by like 'algorithms" and they don’t care that much…
I hope so…anyone else?
