Right now I'm taking my first 16 units, I was planning on taking just 34 this year and then jamming the last 26 in summer and fall. But now I realize that I want out of my house! I want to make it to UCLA immediately.

If I apply this year, is it possible to make it by Fall 09 with this game plan?

Will I still be able to apply for Fall 09 with so few units completed at the time of application?

I'm honestly bummed out that I only get to spend 2 years at UCLA though, is there any way to stretch my college life another year by double majoring?

I know these are pretty random questions! thanks

And If I integrate those 11 units from Summer into Spring and Winter? Is it near suicidal? Should I attempt it if I'm confident and drop my classes by the 3rd week if it seems overwhelming?

Does that mean 16 units in the winter and 28 units in the spring? Not going to happen. Most people that transfer in one year usually 1) have a significant amount of units from taking cc classes in high school and/or transferring AP credit; and 2) take more than 16 units in the fall.

I don't think it's going to happen for you. Wait until next year.

You COULD transfer those 11 units to the spring and winter, but then you wouldn't be able to transfer. Why? One of two reasons:

A. You'll fail one of your classes, falling you short of the 60 units.
B. Your GPA would be too bad to get into UCLA anyway. Maybe start thinking of somewhere that's not UCLA if you're that desperate to transfer out?

unless youre willing to dedicate ALL your free time to school then i would say the 11 in the short semesters and 22 in long is impossible. i would highly advise the extra year or consider a private school.

"I'm just going to do it by Winter '10 then its near impossible enough doing this as it is."
First of all:
Ucla no long accepts winter admissions says on their website
Second if you wanted to transfer that badly you should have taken courses during summer '08 and taken more units during fall so you won't have to overload yourself during winter, and spring. i got a buddy who took 12 units during summer so it is POSSIBLE with a lot of hard work. I believe if you want to do it then go for it, remember though you would be cramming two years worth of units into one so it will be rigourous and pretty much academic suicide.
So you would have to dedicate all your time to school!! But if you're a intelligent hardworking individual then by all means go for it! Just make a intelligent decision
