Should I try transferring to Ivy, or top 20?

SAT: 2210 (800 math, 730 critical reading, 680 writing)
High School GPA: 3.15 unweighted (this was my Achilles heel)
Loads of extra curriculars from high shcool (captain of mock trial, captain of model un, editor in chief of yearbook club)

Currently a Freshmen at George Washington University
Expected College GPA: 3.5
Poli Sci Major

If I get a 3.5+, should I try applying to places like Penn and Princeton? Would I need a 3.8+ for these schools?

Would I have a decent shot at Vanderbilt?

You should check college websites before selecting transfer schools.

3.5 probably wouldn’t make the cut, 3.8 would put you in a better position but it’s still a slim chance and depends a lot on essays and luck

lol princenton doesn’t accept transfers, I hope you aren’t just looking school by reputation

Indeed, Princeton does not take transfers, and at many Ivies that do take transfers, the competition for transfer admission is far more intense than it is for freshman admission.

IMO, a wise person in your position would try to wring every possible advantage out of attending a really good university in a really lively part of an exciting city to live in.
