ive decided to go to uci and i want to ensure a good housing assignment so my parents want me to turn in my SIR and housing app ASAP.
however, i appealed my rejection to ucla and want to wait for a response from them.
can i go ahead and submit my SIR and if ucla comes through, throw it out the window? or is that not possible? what do you all suggest?

go ahead and submit it i think. i believe appeal decisions come out after may 1st anyway

If UCLA accepts you because of an appeal I believe you may withdraw yourself from UCI.

i can do so without penalty (besides losing my non-refundable deposit)?
is there any advantage of turning in my housing app now as opposed to on may 1st? they wont send me my housing contract yet right?

I don't know about UCI. For Berkeley it doesn't matter when I turn in my housing app as long as it's before the deadline, but it could be different for UCI. I'd suggest looking it up on the UCI website.

it doesnt say on the website whether a housing application that is turned in earlier than may 1st gets priority, but it says that all the housing contracts are sent out in mid to late may.

so then should i send in my SIR or not?

anyone have any suggestions?
