Hello all, I am wondering whether it is worth keeping my current laptop or upgrade to a new one, and what to upgrade to?
This is my laptop:
Inspiron N5110
i5-2430 2.4GHZ
6 GB RAM
Intel HD 3000
1366 x 768 32 bit display

I was thinking about getting a new laptop also because one of the 2 speakers is broken, and my usb ports are also broken which I am pretty sure is not good. What would be a good laptop for me? Marketing major with some programming mixed in as well. I also am a gamer just to throw that in, not too hefty though. My budget is around 800, some options I looked at now were the MBA and MBP ( I know these run over 800, but I'd be willing to fork over more dough for these) HP envy 15 j013cl, or the Acer Aspire V3-551G-8454. Not sure if those are good options or not, but I will listen to any and anything.

^HP is a good choice this time around. They gotten better at cooling down their laptops (unless you’re running AMD).
However at $800 I suggest looking at Lenovo and Asus. They are at the top of their games right now.

Edit: Looking at the HP laptop you said. I would stay away from any HP that include AMD processors.

Edit 2: I heard that if you’re going with windows 8 you might want a touchscreen (there are plenty for under $800) because it will feel like a drag without one for windows 8.

Any reason why you prefer AMD processor? I know intel just came out with a new generation of processors who main focus is longer battery life…

@Descuff I have Windows 8 on my current non touch laptop, I’m used to it by now it’s not an issue. I don’t prefer AMD processor lol I guess it was just there. I just want the best option I can pick for college, and average gaming also. :/

I don’t need THAT much graphics lol, if I could play most games on low-medium I’d be perfectly fine with that in some cases even Intel 4000 is good enough from what I’ve seen. I’d actually rather not spend 800 unless I fall in love with it.
