So I've had my Curve 8310 since April '08, and as technology advances, this thing has turned into a big piece of crap.

I finally got enough money to upgrade to the new iPhone 4, which I've been wanting since it came out. But I'm worried about all the issues everyone's been talking about.

Obviously there's the steel band issue (though has that been fixed in later models or something?). But more worry some, are mic issues. People have been saying that others can't here them in calls or in Facetime, stuff like that.

So here's my dilemma, should I upgrade now, or wait appx. 7 months until the 5th version comes out?

I’d wait if it’s only 7 months. Personally I don’t care too much for cell phones. As long as they can text and make calls, I’m happy. And I wouldn’t call this a “dilemma”. At least you have the money to buy an iPhone 4! Where I live, I’d need to work for over 5 months to have the gross income to even consider it, assuming I receive the necessities from my parents. Since I’m Asian and somewhat of a geek, I’d use the money on Yugioh cards, lol.

Btw, is anyone still into Yugioh? I had a 4-year hiatus before starting again this fall. Yes, I play Yugioh and I’m proud!

I have a 4 and I LOVE it. I got one of the newer models, and there are no apparent bugs. I definitely suggest getting one, whether now or in 7 months.

Don’t wait 7 months. Technology moves so fast nowadays. This years cutting edge will be next year’s budget phone. You’ll be stuck in the waiting game and you’ll never get a phone. You have the money, you want the iPhone 4, so GET IT.

Everyone gets a case for the iPhone 4 anyway so you won’t have the antenna problems. Those issues you hear are nitpicky problems that the review sites (cnet, engadget, gizmodo) have to address. It’s their job. They have to include pros and cons in their reviews because nothing is perfect.
