Should I wait and reapply?

Well, I'm new here and was hoping for some good advice.Well, I'm a senior in high school and earlier in the school year I decided I would take a year off and work before going to college and didn't bother applying anywhere figuring I would take care of that in the fall. However a month ago I changed my mind for some reason and decided that I might like to try to start college in the fall instead of taking time off so I applied to Penn State main campus. I realized my chances were slim with it being so late and just as I guessed I looked on my penn state profile and it said due to limitations with the incoming class I didn't get my first choice but was offered acceptance into the Harrisburg campus. My stats by the way are roughly a 3.8 weighted gpa, an 1870 sat, and my class rank is somewhere around top 10-15 percent. I've made my mind up and really want to go to the main campus so I was wondering if I could go with my original plan of taking a year off and reapply to the main campus in September so I could get a better priority for my application. I guess what I'm really asking is do you think my stats are good enough to get in if I apply much earlier next time.

Your stats are good, so I do think you have a good chance of getting in, if you apply early this time. I think you should still give some thought to the branch campus, though. You’d save some money, and you would already have one year of college under your belt by this time next year.

If you are deadset on going to main campus as a freshman, be sure to indicate that you are willing to go in summer, if necessary. That increases your odds of acceptance.
