Should I wait to apply?

Hi CollegeConfidential, I'd like your opinion on something. So, for the first two and a half years of high school i didn't put much effort into school. My teachers always told me that I had potential, but I never listened to them, and my GPA stayed around a 3.0 because I never did my homework. About halfway through last year I met some awesome people that changed my entire perspective on life, and ever since then I've been putting a lot more effort into getting good grades. My GPA for Q3 and Q4 were around 3.4, and my GPA for his year has been a 4.0. I've filled out my applications for my colleges with Early Action deadlines of December 1st, but I was wondering if it would be better miss these and wait until my second quarter grades are out to show that my higher grades aren't a one-time thing.

bump

I’m not sure if it is the same in your school, but in Texas, colleges can’t see your senior year grades. 2nd semester of your junior year is the last grading period. This is because your grades aren’t final yet in your senior year… If you haven’t finished your essay yet, maybe you could add about your change in perspective if it fits the topic.

One of the BEST reasons NOT to apply EA or ED is to await another semester’s top grades to boost your overall cumulative GPA. You should wait to apply RD at all your choice schools. Good luck to you
