Should I waive the right to access application materials?

I really want to read my recommendations after I matriculate, but my parents think that waiving the right shows sincerity and objectivity of the letters of recommendation.

I want to know your views. Which box did you tick? Does a little curiosity hurt?

the teacher will know if you will ever read the rec. that might somehow affect what they say one way or the other I suppose. But most experienced teachers do many, many recommendations and I’m sure they get some who waive and some who dont, so I don’t think it’ll be a big deal either way.

Haha my school required me to waive my rights. YMMV but I honestly think it’d be better if you didn’t read them. Even though I am incredibly curious about what my teachers will write about me :O

It seems imporant and interesting now to read them, but I think by the time you enter college and have the right to read them, they probably won’t matter so much.

Thanks.
I’ve decided to waive my rights.
