Should I Withdraw From Orgo

This is my worst class. Right now, unless I do MUCH worse or MUCH better on the third exam and final, I think I'm going to get around a C.
What looks better for admissions with law/medical/graduate schools?
A C or an incomplete?

Well, if you head towards medical school, you need to take the course. With a W, you'll have to go through Orgo again. Do you expect to do significantly better the second time, ie. get an A? If not, then take the C. One C isn't going to keep you out of medical school, as long as you don't have any more of them.

A couple of withdraws are not looked upon as a negative thing, as long as it's 2 or 3 hell even 5 is okay. if you're going beyond 5 that becomes a problem and they'll start questioning.

if you're applying to med school and think you're going to get a c then i would drop it and retake it only if you think you can and will get an A in the class. if you won't get an A then take the C and run. one C won't kill you. if you're going to drop it and just end up with a b then it is not worth dropping.

i've done a lot of searches on attitudes about this cause i had a similar problem last year.

For medical school, 3 is probably your max. 1 is excusable, 2 will raise an eyebrow and 3 will cause people to wonder. Beyond that, you're getting into dangerous waters.

I think I'm going to stick it out. Good to hear that one C won't kill me with med school admissions, even if it's in a prerequisite.

I have a C in orgo right now...i am staying in it because I don't want to have to take physics AND orgo over this summer (i already dropped physics with a W)...and I am transferring back to my old school and I am sure I can get an A over there (they are doing stuff in Orgo II that I did last week).

I would say a C- is the cutoff for Orgo, that and anything below should be dropped.

BigRedMed, if someone has 4 W's spread out over the four years of undergrad I think its worse than 2 W's in one semester. The 4 W's show you consistently 'don't learn your lesson' so to speak.

One W is really a fart in the wind. If you can get an A in Orgo II you will be just fine, besides Orgo II is the harder material. I would say stay in it as long as you can do well in Orgo II.
