Should I worry about getting into UW?

Hey guys, first post here. I'll try to keep it as terse as I can.

I'm unsure of my acceptance into UW. Their GPA range is 3.6-3.9, but their SAT average is around 1880.

My GPA is 3.28 unweighted. It's dragged down by Freshman year, when I was in Canada. I am doing IB Diploma.

My SAT is 2130.

My extracurriculars: DECA Nationals competition qualifier, Chief Technology Officer of a cultural nonprofit org, 9+ years of competitive martial arts, treasurer of 2 clubs, Sergeant in Royal Canadian Air Cadets.

My teachers told me that my essays (for the UW writing section) were written better than the average student.

On a scale of 1-100%, what are my chances of getting accepted into the UW?

Thanks guys

be worried.

70-80%

90% almost shoe-in

i would say that you have a 75 to 85% of getting in.

your SAT score is higher than mine (2050) so it should help.

out of curiosity, what are the royal canadian air cadets? .____.

Your unweighted GPA is pretty darn low (they could care less about your weighted grade). Your SAT is good though.

I’m going to have to put it at 70-75%.

If you don’t get in, I urge you to go to a community college prove yourself and then transfer

Huh.

Does it help if I had a 2.9 GPA, which increased to 3.6, and down to 3.4 (IB Diploma)?

What I have trouble understanding is how the average GPAs are so high yet the average SATs are so low.

It’s like ROTC.

UW’s values GPA more than they value the SAT.

Their reasoning behind that is although you may be intelligent, it doesn’t matter if you don’t apply yourself. I personally know 2 people with 2200+ and 3.0s who got rejected last year. I think your chances are lower than what other people are suggesting.
I’d say 55% maybe.
