Should I Worry?-please reply'~'

I am applying to Middlesex, Hotchkiss, and a excellent day school near where I live. All I really care about is getting into Hotchkiss or Middlesex.

my "stats":

I am in the eighth grade applying for the 2007 year.
I am African-American in particular Nigerian-American.
My grades range from 95-100 in every subject but math which is usually anywhere betwwen 90-100 (honors)
I play volleyball which I not particularly gifted in, softball, and a lot of competitive cheerleading although I don't think that these prep schools offer that.
I play no instruments (might start guitar)

what do you think about my stats? will someone like me have alot of competition? do you think i'll be accepted?

What was your SSAT?

Both of those schools are highly competitive--to be safe, I'd apply to some saftey schools... some of the lower-ISL schools, or other CT. schools.
For example: Brooks (ISL,) Lawrence (ISL,) Worcester, Westminster, Cheshire, Berkshire.

I agree with Juju. You should apply to Middlesex and Hotchkiss. At the same time, you should research other boarding schools that offer what you want and are not as difficult to gain acceptance. That way, you should have a good outcome when acceptance day comes. There are many wonderful schools out there that routinely send their top 10 - 30 % students to top colleges. Do you need to be in New England?

hopeful, if Middlesex or Hotchkiss are absolutely the only boarding schools you will consider going to, then I guess you apply to the two and hope for the best. However, if you decide that you are open to other school, then apply to maybe 6 total schools. You want to look at other schools that will appeal to you, and that have a higher acceptance rate. This way you have a better chance of gaining acceptance. On the service, your grades look competitive, and the fact that you are URM, make's you more appealing. All schools are on the lookout for qualified URM's, including Middlesex and Hotchkiss. If you should have any questions regarding Middlesex, PM me. I have a d who attends MX.

hopeful i meant surface not service.
