<p>Northeastern is D's #1 choice by far. But most of the other schools she has applied to are generally considered to be superior to NEU, at least according to most guidance counselors, college publications, parents/students, and so on (e.g., Brown, BU, Columbia, GWU).</p>
<p>Should I be concerned that NEU would think that my daughter is merely using the school as a safety? Might NEU either reject her on that basis or not offer her appropriate merit aid, Honors status, etc.? And if so, how should D's interest in NEU be indicated?</p>
