Should my kid attend the March 28 Open House? Or wait till fall?

He's a HS junior. F&M looks like a great (mid-high) match for him. And the Franklin & Marshall - Scientific & Philosophical Studies of Mind major looks perfect.

We can't decide when to visit. Attend the March 28 open house for juniors? Or wait for a date in the fall, when he's a senior?

Currently, he has no calendar conflict on 3/28. But, visiting now might be premature. We're trying to focus on safety schools right now since we don't have any SAT scores yet.

Thoughts?

More and more applications are being submitted in the fall, based on Junior grades and essays written over the summer. By fall the show is pretty much over.

GO!!!! Senior year is such craziness, you may not be able to get that opportunity in the fall, and if you do, use that time for an overnight visit if you can...GOOD LUCK!

My oldest son attends F&M (and loves it) and I would recommend going earlier rather than later since, for many schools , demonstrated interested is a major factor for admission. The common app facilitates applying to many schools and campus visits can be a differentiator.

OK. Y'all convinced me. We'll plan on going March 28. :)
