<p>Besides being completely disgusted and saddened by the actions and inactions of the students/parents/administrators involved, I am astonished that at the very least there were not consequences for all the athletes under a school athletic code of conduct. My kids had to sign a year long athletic code that barred them from even being in the presence of alcohol/tobacco/drugs. Though there are bigger more important issues here, suspending all of the football players (or any athletes) that were at the parties should have been the first step. I tried looking up the school’s code of conduct but according to various sites, it has “mysteriously” been removed from public view. Apparently it is perfectly acceptable for athletes in Steubenville to drink and party. Not surprising that the “rape crew” felt they could and would get away with whatever they chose to do.</p>
