<p>I think you may have misunderstood. My point was that if MIT is beyond reach (as seems to be the general consensus), then S should perhaps focus on TAMU rather than some other engineering schools, such as, Cornell, CMU or Perdue etc. I can see the added value of an MIT education, but I am not sure the other engineering schools would add enough value to make me want to help financially, when TAMU offers financial opportunties such as this:
