Should the Georgetown SFS Essay be formal or should it be personal?

  1. Should I use any first person statements? ("I" "in my opinion" etc)?
  2. Should I just dive right into the topic and give my position or should I start with an anecdote?
  3. Should it be more like a position paper or a personal statement?
  4. Should it relate back to me at all or can it be purely about my global issue?
  5. Should I mention statistics or is that too formal?
