<p>I do not think that it is any admissions officer's business whether an applicant paid for and received help or whether the applicant received help for free. On the same note, I also do not think that it is any of their business as to what other schools applicants are applying to. Further, I do not believe that the majority of applicants are going to truthfully answer the questions--there would always be a gray area where the applicant could get away with not being totally honest, which is sad, but true, in today's society. Maybe if the colleges are resorting to asking these types of questions about particular applicants, then the applicants should not be considered at all--and perhaps the applicants would be better off in another college setting.
