should we expect letters in the mail this week!?

well mines been “we received your stuff” forever. sooo who knows.

“I wish I would get the “forwarded” one, as it seems all the people who get that are getting accepted.”

one can only hope  :)

I have searched everywhere and cannot find the thread that said what those status changes mean. It was something like, “Currently under review by admissions committee” meant that admissions staff had received your app. and were working on it. Then the “forwarded” message meant it had passed admissions for minimum qualifications and forwarded to the specific school for a recommendation. Then it goes back to “currently being reviewed by admissions committee” and that meant it was back in admissions with or without a recommendation by the school for that major. Then the final one was something like, “your application has been acted upon and you will receive notice by April 1st.” Which means you will get a yes/no letter.

I have searched high and low to find the area that I read that in and can’t seem to find it. I don’t know if any of that is correct, but it was an interpretation that someone put out there. Sounds logical to me. That is why I also think it is good to see that “forwarded” message, because it might mean you have half a chance. Like I said though, I have not seen that message at all on my status though…darned it.

ChongShu, have you gotten anything? What does your status say?

okay well what if you got a request for grades and now have a status that says: We received the fall grades we requested, and require no additional information at this time. We will mail decisions to freshman applicants by April 1st.

jackdaniels…wow, that is a tough one. I have no idea. I know I am stuck in the “currently being reviewed by the committee” limbo. It sounds like you passed right over limbo and went straight to the finish line. Hopefully, that is a really good thing for you.

i really hope so. i feel like i’m the only one with this status, everyone seems to have the forwarded one or the reviewed one

nah jack i got that same status… what are your stats like? and for what major? i got 2100 sat, 3.8 gpa, good recs/essays/ecs… i applied for double major in business/computer engineering so im not quite sure what slot that puts me in… they requested mid year and i sent them and the only change to my status was that they had received them and would mail me by april 1st…

^I have the “we received everything…decisions will come by April 1st” status too!

^ I have that status too.
stats fall in the avg. usc range, nationally ranked debater, many other time consuming activities (band, singing, dance, etc.)
I really hope the we have received everything status is a good indicator!

oh, and i applied for annenberg public relations with a second choice major of philosophy, politics, and law in the college of letters arts and sciences.

guys, really, stop speculating. it’s getting a little ridiculous/obsessive.

For some people it helps to talk over stressful situations as they are happening. It is not an “obsessing over it” thing, it is truly a need to run ideas past a friendly “voice”.

So, everyone, keep on posting your fears, your theories, etc., that is what College Confidential is all about. Speculation is always interesting and healthy.

“Speculation is always interesting and healthy.”

LOL, right.

My son has been in the “forwarded” stage for a month or so. He is applying for engineering. I wonder if that is why it’s taking so long or maybe he isn’t getting in :-(

for those of you who keep saying not to speculate/be stressed…

WHY are you keep returning to read these posts then?

Not that I’m a fan of speculation or anything but if this annoys you so much, just stay away from CC and do something else.

laure327…let’s pretend we are on Facebook for one minute and I just clicked your

Like button.

I couldn’t agree with you more.

“WHY are you keep returning to read these posts then?”

BECAUSE some of us are waiting for information that may actually be of use to others E.G. new acceptances, recent calls to the admissions office, etc. NOT ‘i don’t know what this status means, i’ve had this status for 2.5 weeks and it’s not changing but oOo i think it changed back for a day and now it’s this other status does anyone know what this means do i not have a shot anymore because of my third status change?!??!?!?!?!!’ no, sthu & wait patiently like the rest of us & not like a whiny little kid.

randy:
i have a 31 ACT, top 5% of class, student council president, debate president and lots of debate awards, young democrats president, 13 AP classes, good essays and hopefully good recs.

I think we read too much into these. I don’t think it’s good or bad because this literally updated the day after I sent in my scores. Can they really make a decision that fast? And most of my grades for this semester were Bs (in 6 AP classes…but still). So idk if it could be that great of a thing…

and i applied to whatever school that offered a polsci major haha, i dont remember which one that was

thisgirlisaG, please stick to the topic at hand and quit your whining. This is a forum to discuss status, admissions, questions, not to knock other people for voicing their opinions. Your comments are unfair and really have no place on this forum. Let it go and stop obsessing so much about it please.
