Quick question: if we kindof know what we want to major in (or have an idea at least), should we look into what courses to take before orientation? I really don't know how the course scheduling or anything works, so I definitely need to talk to an advisor about it. I just don't know if they take us through the whole process of signing up for stuff, or if we're supposed to know beforehand.

Also, did anyone find out what happened with the Spanish Placement Exams? Does 104 offer them?

yes, definitely know what classes. if you need pre-orientation help, just ask on these forums, because im pretty sure someone shares your major.

you don't really need to know anything...orientation is there for two reasons: acclimating you to your new school and helping you plan out your first few quarters. so yes, take a look at what classes you'll have to take and have a general idea of what you want to take fall quarter, but you don't need to have everything figured out.

this tells you what courses are being offered that quarter. as for the class required for your major, the department's website should have a page detailing what courses you need to take.
