Should we make the effort to visit?

DS attended a local presentation by Case Western, and then was interviewed last week locally by an admissions rep. DS felt interview went well and admissions rep told my son's GC the interview went well. We have visited a number of schools but Case didn't enter our radar screen until recently. DS wants to apply EA to Case. Should we visit the campus before Nov 1 or can it wait? Life is so crazy right now with EC's, 3 AP classes, SAT prep for OCtober 8 - we could do it if we had to, but....what do you think? Will it make a difference?

well EA isnt binding so its not absolutely necessary until after admission but i definitely recommend visiting:
MY story:
All through my high school career i knew that miami(OH) university was my top choice b/c it had prestige and it was in the midwest, which i love, i had been to purdue and butler and a few other schools but i really never even seriously considered any other school until... summer junior year i attended a pre-engineering program at ohio univ. and even though i wasnt even considering it, it was love at first site and after hanging around a couple of weeks i just kept loving it more and more, now it is my top choice...
That was basically just to illustrate the importance of a visit, especially a place like case which isnt very highly regarded by its students (besides academic strength of course) i think that being in love with the environment and feeling at home at a college is the most important factor, i mean you can get a great job graduating from any of the top 150 colleges....

Plus some colleges give you brownie points for showing interest by visiting

Go ahead and apply and visit later if that would work better for your schedule. Definitely make the time for a visit at some point before making a final admissions decision, but knowing everything about a campus before you apply isn't completely necessary.
I stopped by Case on the way back from my tour of choice schools during my junior year (I really didn't want to stop, but my mother convinced me that one more wouldn't kill me). It ended up being my favorite on that trip...as the admissions decisions came rolling in and I looked more into academic specifics, Case started looking better and better for me. Now I'm in my second year and loving it still! :-)
