My D submitted the application a couple weeks ago and have the ACT and transcript sent also. Her ACT score is a bit better than her SAT1, so I thought just sending the ACT should be okay. However, she also got two very good SAT2 scores. As UMN does not require SAT2, I am wondering if she should still send in the SAT1/SAT2 score. Would that help her to get merit aid?

I don’t think SAT II scores would make a big difference, but that is just my best guess. What is her ACT?

She got 35.

That’s good. Hard to see the SAT IIs adding much, but I guess you could call admissions and ask.

I just checked. The SAT2 scores would do nothing as they do not even incorporate it into the application. The only enter SAT1 and ACT into the application record.

billscho…Are either of her SAT II scores directly related to her intended field of study? The various colleges and some departments at UMinn offer smaller scholarships (many with a separate application) that she could apply for now and after enrolling, so it’s possible that a more “targeted” SAT II score MIGHT carry some weight for some of those scholarships. We don’t have any direct experience with applying for departmental scholarships though, so I can’t say definitively one way or the other.

Yes. They are. I am hoping the SAT2 scores would increase my D’s chance for merit aid. However, I could not find any additional scholarship that requires separated application and my D is eligible to apply.
