Should we start G-loading the SAT?

Or, alternatively, make the test difficult (and, for example, have 50/58 in Math suffice for an 800)?

Is having a really easy test where one where has to make no errors whatsoever to get a good score really a good metric for college preparedness?

Regarding the G-loading, shouldn’t critical abilities and problem-solving ability be more heavily emphasised so that the tests actually measure intelligence/ cognitive ability?

Would a test similar to the Oxford TSA or Business school GMAT or Grad school GRE not better measure “college preparedness”?

Any other opinions? As you can tell I’m not a fan of the SAT/ACT! (Ultimately I had little another choice, so ended up preparing/ working for the Dec SAT, and hope/ expect a 1550 or so, but still, think I’d be better off submitting my Oxford TSA or taking a GMAT!)

These tests are still a measure of cognitive ability, they just aren’t entirely so. As long as there are decent study materials available (including for the GMAT) there’s the potential to raise your score to some threshold that’s hard to surpass. BTW, the score distribution shows that 1550 isn’t all that common
