<p>That said, Michigan has the capacity and caliber to privatize and flourish. But it doesn’t currently have the philosophical orientation. For us in-state families, thank God…but we do worry that the idiots in Lansing will eventually kill the golden goose with short-sighted and uninformed strategies for funding education (aka complete ignorance around the concept of a structural budget deficit requiring immediate and sufficient remedy…a decade of this now…). And its not JUST in terms of alienating U Mich, but it also trickles down to whether or not the publicly-educated children of this state will actual have the future CAPACITY to attend a school like UMich.</p>
