Do people actually use the shower caddies (like the ones they sell at Bed Bath and Beyond)? They seem a bit large. I'm a guy BTW.

i do, but get something smaller, like a beach pail at the dollar store

I don't go to college yet but I live in a house with ten people (5 kids, 2 parents, 3 friends living here) with one shower. I use a small plastic basket. It's like a beach pail but not solid. I wouldn't use anything cloth, it would probably get molding (similar to a lot of things in dorm bathrooms).

I got one during the activities open house. One of the clubs was giving them away. Actually, it is a mini-milk crate, but it does serve the purpose.

those huge ones at Bed bath and beyond go for like $10.
i opted for a smaller one for just conditioner, shampoo, soap, etc. from like walmart (gross, i know right?). it was pretty much just like a plastic basket with a handle and has holes on the side. and it was $1.
and i got a 2nd one for my sink stuff. toothbrush, paste, floss, gel, facewash, etc.

lol...my dad told me shower caddies should only be used by females

I guess your dad expects guys to grow a three arms, then. Either that, or you'd have to fold your arms to carry your stuff, which unfortunantely leaves your towel prone to gravity and/or mischievious hallmates.

yea umm my mom bought me one of the bath and body works shower caddies.... it is kinda big but im gonna use it anyway.... its better than fumbling around with all my stuff walking down the hall

During my freshman year I would say that 90% of the people I saw in the bathroom had some sort of shower caddy, and I am a guy. A good number of them did actually have those huge ones with all of the little compartments, but I was fine with a little $1 one from walmart that was something like 8"x5"x5".

On this same note, if anyone somehow doesn't own a pair of rubber sandals/flip flops.. invest in a pair immediately. I have heard some of the bathroom floors are gross so showering with flip flops is a must.

Bed, Bath, and Beyond sells a smaller shower caddy as well without the fancy shmancy organizer compartments. It basically just a small clear plastic basket about 8.5" X 6.5" X 5".

i found the shower caddy I'm gonna use at Christmas Tree shop and for shower flip flops, check out old navy 2 for $5 is a pretty good deal.

Target sells flip-flops for $1 on occasion, you just have to keep your eyes out.

I got a pop-up shower caddy from BB&B. It's not really wide, but it's big enough and tall enough to hold shampoo, conditioner, a razor and body wash. It might hold more, I haven't put anything in it yet so I'm not sure. I saw the ones with different compartments but it seemed like it was too much and cost more than I wanted to spend on a holder for stuff that's going to get wet and kinda gross every day. The pop-up one was $4.

Is the stereotype that "men dont use shower caddies" true?

Is that the caddy that looks like a milk crate Frost?...the Foldable one? I was looking at that one also if im thinking of the same one.

i use my gravity gun to carry stuff around

HL2!! haha

haha i think 90% of the guys on my floor used shower caddies...the other 10% i never saw when they walked to the shower. Also, quite a few guys wore bathrobes to the bathroom. I wouldn't recommend getting a shower caddy without any holes because you don't want water to get trapped in there and drag that to your room

I don't know if it's true but...they look gay as hell. Then again, I'm going to be using one.
