are shower caddies weird for guys to carry around? i think it'd be convenience but afraid what others (esp. males) might think about another fella carrying it. what are you people's take on this?

I have one. It's just a little basket to carry your shower stuff around.

Not necessary, but it makes it easier...and just slide it under your bed when you're done.

if you mean one of those shower baskets, then no it is not weird to carry it around. I use it, my hallmates use it, everyone in my hall uses it.

I don't think it would be weird. In fact, I laughed at the guy who tried to carry everything in his arms and kept dropping stuff.

ive never seen a guy use one in my undergrad in the dorms. Most used either zip lock bags or just carried the stuff in with them.

nothing wrong with using it.

I was thinking of getting a maintenance bag to put my tooth brush, tooth paste, deodorant, etc. and carry the soap and shampoo by hand. It's not that much. Actually, I never even thought about getting a shower caddy, but if it's like this http://www.organize-it-online.com/images/dormcaddy.jpg, it's a pretty good idea.

THis is sort of what I use, http://www.organizeit-online.com/images/2534.jpg but with handles and a little bigger.

None of the guys I know in my dorm used one. They only had one or two things and just carried them.

It's not weird at all. I use one and the guys just don't care. It's a nice way to be convenient and makes life a little less complicated.

that link shows a nicer caddy/more appropriate caddy for guys than the ones i've seen at bbb or linen-n-t

i use a toiletry bag with deodorant, razor, toothbrush, etc (smaller stuff) in it and then put my bigger shampoo and body wash bottles into a canvas bag. i used that when ive studied abroad these past few years and done exchange programs in different dorm environments

make sure its made of hard plastic or else mold will form.

I've seen lots of guys with them in the dorms. Even if you were the only one, who cares? This isn't preschool. If someone cared, he needs to grow up!

In addition to this you should make sure there's a way for the water at the bottom to drain. If the last hole in it is 1" up the side, then you're always going to have the bottom of your stuff wet.

as long as it isn't like a "my little pony" shower caddy, I think you'll be fine

what is the purpose of these things?

All you need to shower with is a towel, shower shoes and a bar of soap... You can wear two of them, and the bar of soap isn't that hard to carry. (Unless you're in prison)

It's more than that^ Some people like taking showers, brushing their teeth and even wearing tehri lotion and deodorant in the bathroom and you just cannot hold a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, sponge, towel, clothes etc. in your hand all the time.

Most on my floor used shower caddies. It would have been annoying to walk back and forth between the bathroom and dorm room to take a shower, then brush teeth, shave, etc. Just make sure it's a neutral color like dark blue or black or something, and no one will say anything about it. If you really feel that awkward carry everything in a bag.

USE A CADDY! Having many items only means you're hygenic, not "feminine." Think practically, don't think so much about if something affects the mysterious notion of masculinity or not. If you don't want something colorful, get a simple metal shower caddy with handles. It won't rust because it's probably stainless steel, meant specifically to get wet, and if it's got holes in the bottom or is a sort of net pattern, it will drain instantly. DO IT

yea I mean bathroom things can add up.

razor, pre shave, shaving cream, after shave, shaving brush, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, towel, cologne

How can anybody carry all that?
