Hey, I am going to be a freshman at UNC this year. I am preparing to move in and all, but have a few questions regarding dorm life.

Where are the showers? How many people do they serve? I know I'm not phrasing this right, but where and when do I take a bath? Is it a real hassle to wait for other people, or what? How does this thing take place.

Maybe I am misinterpreting this but is there only one shower per 10 people? Wont this be a huge hassle?

Also, do people dress up in the restroom or do they head out to the place they live in? I know that is a really stupid question, but please answer.

With hall style bathrooms, for whatever reason, showering is NEVER a problem. I have never ever had to wait for a shower in my all girls dorm, and for whatever reason usually no one else is even in the shower when I am. I thought this was bizarre but my other friends had the same experience.

Most people walk through the halls in a robe or towel. You won't want to get changed into your clothes in the bathroom because everything's a little wet and humid.

Everyone has a different policy with changing and their roommate. Some people start disrobing immediately and let their roommate figure out it's time to look away, other people go to their corner and announce "I'm changing." One girl I know goes into the closet to change. At any rate, maybe it seems scary now, but it's totally fine. No one will make fun of you for having whatever changing policy you might have.
