Showing demonstrated interest..is it important..

<p>So I recently got one of these personal mailings from Wellesley with my own url (something with my name ID)..I know these are sent out to a zillion other folks..and I know these are marketing. But given 2 similar applicants, one that has signed on for this, would that merit any extra selection point. Or should I just throw away the mailings?</p>

<p>Mainly I wanted to know if there is any merit signing up for these..maybe they let you know admit events in your area or something?</p>

<p>Daughter was admitted. She did not sign up for the info mailing with personal id. She did not interview. She attempted to set up an interview thru Wellesley (per their policy) but could never get together with the Wellesley alum interviewer. It was a ragged experience.</p>
