<p>No. They only care about interest on the physical application. You need to convey to them that you want to come to Cornell through the essays (they have one specifically for that).</p>

<p>multiple people (including people from admissions and alumni who conduct interviews) say that Cornell does note stuff like if you take a campus tour or visit information sessions. I dont know what this stuff would play when it comes to admissions, but i dont think it goes unnoticed.</p>

<p>since cornell receives so many in-state applicants...all the names are cross referenced with information sheets you fill out when you visit the specific college you are interested in applying to. bottom line - visit the university and make sure your college knows you went.</p>
