I have heard that the biggest points of getting into Tulane is to show your interest. Both my parents are physicians, and time a huge matter in my family, so I am not able to visit Tulane (I live in Ohio). I have already completed the Why Tulane Essay, and plan to apply Early Action. I have also already made a Tulane account. Is this enough interest, and if not, what else can I do? Thanks!
Showing interest means incorporating what you know and like about it in your essays. It need not be a visit. My S never visited but incorporated a freshman seminar on running through NOs historic neighborhoods into his essay and wove it into his interests.
You could also go to a Tulane Comes to You event in your area. Cincinnati

There is a “Why Tulane” essay that is optional but that you should definitely submit.
CAVEAT: My D was a high stats kid who did the “Why Tulane” essay, applied EA and was deferred, so that is not enough to check the interest box IMO.
If there are questions you have about Tulane that you can’t find the answers to on their website, you could email your regional admissions rep as a show of interest.
The reality is that Tulane is a wild card free application for many high stats kids who would never go if they got their choice. You have to be able to overcome that expectation. The local event is about all you can do beyond the application/groups/etc. Would you love to go to Tulane over UCB, or chicago? Probably not LOL. It is what it is.
@Sybylla Chicago? Couldn’t pay me to live there, go there, or spend my money there! UCB definitely!!
It was just from OP’s other threads list LOL. I really doubt it is a location driven.Tulane probably has tons of applications filled out “because your mother told you to”. That is probably what my kid wrote in his why Tulane essay LOL. He thoroughly earned his WL status LOL.
25% of Tulane’s entering class this year has SATs over 1500 and ACTs over 34, so being picky about admitting only students who want to go there has not hurt Tulane’s efforts to recruit high stats kids. The OP needs to get into the weeds about Tulane’s academic offerings and connect the dots for the admissions committee regarding how those offerings – preferably taking an interdisciplinary approach – will help the OP reach her career goals. The OP needs to be as specific as she can. The other thing that the OP can do to help her case is to familiarize herself with Tulane’ relationship to New Orleans and the many ways students serve the community, envisioning how she would like to take part and what motivates her.
Hi. Can you point me to the source of those figures?
If it is a real figure, most of the merit hunters might as well give up LOL.

You can see from this common data set. 60% are in the to 10% of their class too!
Sorry, in the CDS, where do you see that 25% of enrolled students have an ACT of over 34? Which line number is that?
Actually, the middle 50th percentile ACT scores were 29-33. That means that 25% of the students scored 33-36 or possibly 34-36 on the ACT, but not “over 34” (which would be scores of 35 and 36 only) as stated above.
And @ 75% scored over 30 composite. That only leaves 25% in the 30-36 range. I despise that 30-36 in the CDS. So useless.
Ok so 34 or above…not sure that matters to the point @NJDad68 was making…
line c9 is the middle 50% ending at 33.
@DavidPuddy, Sorry, I should’ve cited my source at the outset in order to avoid confusion. Here it is: https://tulanehullabaloo.com/27262/showcase/class-2021-academically-qualified-diverse-class/#photo.
@Springbird, your clarification is correct.
The clarifications are helpful, thanks.
@Sybylla, I believe you were requesting clarification of Tulane’s entering class’s stats as being a middle 50% range of of ACT 31-34 and SAT 1410-1500. Sorry to not provide it earlier. Here it is: https://tulanehullabaloo.com/27262/showcase/class-2021-academically-qualified-diverse-class/.
