I am applying as a transfer student. I keep hearing that showing interest is a big thing for Emory. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to fly down and visit the campus. To make matters worst, there will be no counseling staff visiting my area before the deadline. Is there any hope for me? How else can I show that I am genuinely interested?

I think the fact that your are trying to transfer shows enough interest, far moreso than if you were a freshman applicant. Transfer admit rate is a bit higher, so if you have the numbers and stuff, you should get in.

You should order the Emory DVD and make an effort to communicate with admissions. Show them Emory’s your number one interest. Ask them for more details about campus life, etc.

well i think showing interest is a big deal for emory.
i didn’t get in regular decision even though my stats were really good and so many people at my school with less extra curicculars, worse sat scores, and lower gpa’s got in over me, and the only thing i didn’t do that all of them did was visit (maybe it has to do with how i live in georgia and emory is ~30 min away?). i was gonna go to gt over them anyways so i don’t even know why i applied but it made me angry but yeah i think interest is important for them

I’m sorry, but I can’t seem to find this DVD!
