I recently heard that GWU assigns a point system to the amount of interest you show in the school (interview, campus visit, etc.). Does anyone know if this is true? Would the fact that I have not had an interview or had the chance to visit the campus ruin my chances?

yes, my interviewer mentioned something about the system. it acts more as a 'tiebreaker' - if the adcom views two students to have equal credentials, often they will break the tie by selecting the student who has shown the most interest.

Interest is something GW holds dear to their heart and they do take it seriously, but for the most part buff is correct that it is used as a tie breaker. GW wants the best students and so does Georgetown, which GW views as its cheif competitor for Washington bound students, thus the more interest in GW you show the more they like you.
