Showing Interest

Does Hopkins care about showing interest? I live far from Baltimore, so I never visited or anything. Can I still show interest (even after I’ve submitted my app?)

and if so, how could I do it?

Try requesting an interview if it isn’t too late.

i say go for it, try shooting admissions an email about questions you may have or ask them if you can be put in touch with a current student. any form of communication indicates interest, whether its an interview, on campus visit, off campus visit with a rep, email etc.

Interest isn’t an official admissions criteria, though, according to their common data set. I can see why, too - plenty of people are interested, but that doesn’t mean they get in. I wouldn’t be overly concerned about not being able to interview or visit. If you do decide to commit, though, visit first. Johns Hopkins might be an amazing school, but off campus is shady.

@falynweiss‌ I meant off campus meaning when reps come to your town and give you a presentation on their college, like at a college fair or other event

@coolpianocat Sorry for the confusion! I meant off campus as in the city of Baltimore. Its the reason my family isn’t all that excited that I’m going. Some people might be more concerned than I am with city safety and should experience that for themselves before they make a four year commitment.
