Hey guys. I've only recently realized how much emphasis Lehigh puts on 'demonstrated interest' in Lehigh U in the undergrad app. process. My question is, can you demonstrate interest (like attending an Info. session) after the January 1st, 2013 deadline (but still in January) and still have it count toward your application? Will they still put what you do in January in your application file?
I've only visited campus once and did the campus tour.. I've also emailed my admissions rep. some questions, but I feel like I could do more.

I think it all depends on when they review your application. You may as well go on another campus tour soon since there aren’t anymore special visiting dates available until spring.

Yeah it counts. Well, as long as they know you already applied. I’m from California and I’m visiting the 10th and I have a meeting with the IBE director so I’m pretty sure mine counts haha. Maybe just email your admissions counselor to let them know youre coming

How would one show interest without taking a tour? I’ve already been on a campus tour and the engineering one, and I don’t feel like there’s a point in going to a tour twice before a decision is made… Maybe it’s just me because I live about 15 minutes away, so I can see it any time I want…

If you missed all of the “special visiting opportunities” maybe you should try to make up for it. Especially if you live that close, they won’t like seeing that you haven’t shown too much interest.

brickhouse9,
Applying ED1 shows more interest than ED2 which shows you have more interest than RD applicants. Admissions usually considers the ED2 applicants as those probably recently rejected ED1 by the ivies or other elite schools. Selectivity increases exponentially as you get to RD time as the accepted applicant pool goes way down. If you want in then you must make them aware of that fact. They want to know that if they accept you that you will attend. Visit, visit and visit again and let them know that Lehigh is your #1 school! E-mail your rep with sincere questions as opposed to what’s the weather like in Bethlehem and it goes in your file showing your interest. Tell them you’ve decided that you really want to spend the next 4, (5 or 6 years) of your life at Lehigh and if accepted you will attend. My oldest spent 6 at Lehigh, my middle is graduating this year and my youngest is class of 2017 and INTEREST does count.

I am impressed by the fact that 3 of your sons attended or will attend Lehigh. The gentleman who intereviewd my daughter locally, was from a long line of Lehigh graduates, grandparent, parent, brothers etc. I hope that this is a good indicator for the experience my daughter will h ave at lehigh. She fell absolutely in love with Lehigh and after visiting several times, ruled out many top schools. I am hoping that the party school reputation soon gets replaced. My daughter is thrilled to be entering the engineering program in the fall.

Yes! go visit! Really until you do it is hard for you to really make a well informed decision. We toured many colleges in the summer and then went back during the school year and the schools seemed completely different and my son’s first choice changed to Lehigh! I would encourage you to contact your admissions officer and ask it is possible for an interview. Once you get on campus you will begin to experience how warm and friendly EVERYONE on campus is. Lehigh is a tight knit family type of school. -Graduation weekend is also an alumni weekend. My son went back to school early so he could attend graduation! I am only on campus a couple times a year and I even I feel like I am a part of Lehigh. I can’t tell you how many business cards I have been given by staff and alumni offering to be of any assistance at any time. Someone even offered to give my son a ride to the airport if there was ever a problem with a taxi reservation! I have been to a lot of colleges and I have never experienced such a warm and accepting place!
