My 18-year-old son has bipolar disorder, and I have the feeling he is going to be fine. He doesn’t use substances and works fine.

I heard a young woman with bipolar speak to a group once. She said she wanted us to know that “I am a stronger person because of my illness, not in spite of it.”

gosh i hope so. none of my friends even know about my issues, because i’m afraid they’ll think i’m too weird.

i know i’m being a bit dramatic (tendency of mine), and i’m not trying to say people with mental health issues can’t be successful.

@mainelonghorn, i hope your son is very successful!

thanks for the actual responses!
