Sibling FASFA question

Hi, I am filling out my FASFA right now for 2013-2014. One of the questions asks how many college students will be in the household from July 1,2013- June 30,2014. My brother will be graduating in 2014, and will be enrolled in college by June 30, but will not have started school yet. Should I include him in the number? Thank you

No. Because your brother will not have been a full-time student in that time frame, he does not count. It is intended to figure out how many college tuitions (is that a word?) your family will be paying for in that year.

No. It is students actually attending school in the school year. Assuming he will be starting in the fall, that will be part of the 2014-2015 school year so you do not include him as being in college in the 2013-2014. Being enrolled by June for the following year does not make him a student in college.

If you are verified by your school (which there is a 33% likelihood you will be), one of the things they will ask for is the names of any siblings listed as being in college and the schools they are attending.

Your FA is being determined for next Fall’s and Spring’s semesters. Your brother will not be in college during that time.
