Sibling role in admission

do siblings play role in admissions? I have four brothers who graduated. I applied EA.

Having siblings who attended will give you no material advantage. Having parents who are alums will. Have you posted your stats on any other threads? Maybe a look at those would give people an idea as to whether you could use the benefit that being a legacy would afford.

I hate to say this, but your GPA looks slightly low. SAT’s are right in the ballpark, and EC’s look like the type of thing ND looks for. But this is just me guessing based on nothing but what I’ve read/heard, as well as the stats of kids that I know have been accepted in the last 2-3 years. My daughter applied EA as well. 4.0+ GPA, 1460/2250, 3 sport varsity athlete, 2 important leadership positions, worked at ND over the summer, teacher rec and counselor rec both from ND grads who know her extremely well, great essays, Catholic, yada, yada. I have no clue whether she will get in, so take what I say with a grain of salt. You only have a week or so left before you find out. Good Luck!

i do not go to a public school. i go to a well known catholic prep school. so my GPA is actually stronger than my SAT scores in the context of my application. just was wondering if my SATs were low for EA

thanks for all the help

Your post with your scores/GPA/ etc. disappeared and I can’t remember what your SAT was, but remember schools will have a hard time comparing your GPA against anything other than your school’s profile and the rigor of your schedule compared to that profile. Saying your GPA is stronger than it appears because you attend a well known school is kind of irrelevant unless that GPA is in the context of having taken an extremely rigorous curriculum at that school. I still think that you are right in ND’s sweet spot and I’d be surprised if you didn’t get in.
