If you have a sibling who attended Georgetown, does that help your chances of getting in? If your sibling graduated second in his class from McDonough and you applied to McDonough, will that also help your chances?

Thanks :) Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

yes - having a sibling that attended will help.
i dont know about the second question.

My brother and I applied the same year. I am a senior in high school, and I got acepted EA to SFS. My brother applied as a transfer student from NYU (he's in their scholars prgram, almost all A's in his classes, so between 3.8 and 3.9GPA) and gets his letter, I believe, sometime in teh next month. Will my acceptance help him at all? He's aplying to the college.

It's hard to tell. I know a lot of legacies here, but that doesn't mean that there are tons of legacies that got turned down. Usually the way that legacies work is if there are two applicants that are equally qualified (whatever that means) then they will choose the legacy over the other person. So yeah, i think it does matter a little bit, but not a whole lot. Oh and I think it does help if your sibling or whoever did well while at gtown.

thanks so much for your input! i am actually in love with georgetown, but i'm trying not to get my heart set on it until i hear april 1st... ahhh!

mmcboy2- i should think that if georgetown recognizes that you two are siblings, he should have an increased chance of getting in...
