I was talking with my friends this weekend and someone asked what the generation after millenials was called. We couldn’t think of the name. I figured they weren’t named yet because older generations didn’t have enough to b!@#$ about with them yet… but it’ll come soon enough.
I’d assume they’d be called generation Z, and the oldest are about to reach high school- about the time that people start whining. I assume that a name will soon be given to them and it will permeate throughout op-eds.
Oh and as for any generation who hasn’t complained? Not that I’ve seen at least in the last 100 years. The very idea of adolescence came out of psychology as a time of “storm and stress” and that rhetoric hasn’t gone away. I have done at on of archival research about attitudes around “youth” these last few months from the 1900s-1960s. Trust me, the parents in those times said the exact same thing about young people as is being said today.
