welcome back, your highness.
did you borrow that paragraph from your mom?

Phew. Such hate among all you overachievers. I just come on this site for useful information regarding apps. The stats don't really matter because anybody learns fast enough that college acceptance is a coin toss, only not with the 50% statistics.

to OP:

If you go to a CC, your life won't be as good as if you go to harvard... Plus, people who go to mediocore colleges are INFERIOR to people who go to ivy leagues...

Yes you can distinguish, I've noticed some of the people that aren't doing well in school are replying. You have 10 hours to do a project, you could use that 10 hours to work on it or you can start it the last 5 minutes and have a few words. Which is a wise choice? Noone would pick doing a project in 5 minutes and have a few words, which don't even fill a rubric.
There is no wise choice. You can't predict future and you don't know what will work best for you.

well ur not asian (idk for sure) and u dont have parents breathing down ur neck because they want their child to succeed in life
Or they want to control every aspect of your life. I hate when my asian parents say "we don't care if UC so and so doesn't have your major. You're going anyway becasue its cheap" WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH THEM GOD DAMN IT They're so closed-minded all they care about is money money money money well guess what? The benefits of going to UC so and so DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT justify the costs of going there whatsoever in any way shape or form. The benefits of going to a top LAC for econ more than justify the costs of going there. How's that for cost-benefit My mom wants to control every little detail in my life....sometimes I wish that some kind of trust fund would fall into my lap out of nowhere (or I would strike oil someplace) so that I could say **** YOU ALL WITH YOUR MONEY I'M PAYING FOR COLLEGE SO YOU GET NO SAY IN WHERE I GO AND YOU CAN WHINE AND SCREAM ALL YOU WANT BUT IM GOING WHERE I WANT NO MATTER WHAT I don't even think my mom cares she told me that she doesn't care straight to my face well I couldn't care less either so DON'T CALL ME EVERY TIME YOU NEED A LIGHTBULB CHANGED GOD DAMN IT. I have no family and the people that are supposed to be my parents don't support me and want to ruin my life and want me to hate my life, my job and my world. God they always say "we spent $80k for u to go to private school blablablabla" I WANNA SLAP THEM IN THE FACE AND SAY "THEN WHY THE **** DID YOU SPEND THE MONEY IF YOU'RE GOING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT ALL DAY LONG!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!" GOD I REALLY NEED SOME TRUST FUND TO FALL OUT OF MY SKY OR I NEED TO WIN $10MIL OUT OF NOWHERE. Maybe if I win $10mil out of nowhere they'll stop bothering me about college and the $80k or whatever blablabla cuz well ill give the $80k to them and tell them to shut the **** up because nobody cares anymore. And then I'll tell them to **** off of my college applications because THEY GET NO SAY IN WHERE I'M APPLYING OR GOING BECAUSE I HAVE THIS CHECK FOR $10MIL AND IM PAYING FOR EVERY EXPENSE INCLUDING THE APPLICATION FEES.

OK end rant.

there is useful information and advice in the High School Life forum. Most of the talk is academically related, such as how to structure ECs, sports, and classes. It's the Cafe that's not as related.
actually, alot of the threads discuss the OP's personal lives. Like how to ask someone out on a date or what to wear to prom or who to ask out. While some threads do discuss ECs and/or school related subject, the majority of them just talk about personal matters.

Out of curiousity, how does one prove his or her schedule?

lol, only Masterus would actually voluntarily take the time out of his life to prove his schedule.

stuck: yeah, I know that. the people who only post exclusively in high school life/cafe are in actuality wasting time (but it depends on what one would define as "useful". Tips on asking girls out could go either way). I just hope that that isn't the majority of people.

Wrong again, chipset, I said you have a rubric. A rubric means you have standards for your project. A wise choice would mean filling out that rubric because a GOOD grade you will recieve in the future impacts your grade.

Also choices don't always have to have a positive effect on your future to be wise. Some choices are what you have to do now, you can't think, action is all you have. What if you were a soldier? A person comes and points a gun an inch away. Would you shoot that person? Or would you take time to think. YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO THINK, THE FUTURE IS UNKNOWN. Choice is important because it affects NOW.

I wasn't really asking why, so much as how....

Grades affect future but what if filling that rubric will cause me to miss something that I would spent my joyful (otherwise) life on?
You see, there's no right or wrong choice -- it's life baby!

geezzzz
laa weeeeezzzzzzzzz

people should be nicer to eachother on this forum.
yeah, voice your opinion,
but seriously you don't have to be a complete __________ on it. fill in the blank with a mean word, + that's pretty much what people on here are doing.

and stop bashing community college because you think your so much better than it.. yeah, well i hope you people start doing drugs and your future goes down the drain. and you don't get in to any college. because seriously, just because you have a different path you want to take in life, doesn't mean you have to bash other people's life choices.

and yeah, i'm not even planning on going to CC but i`m just saying you people are ____________ to eachother
ok, i`m done with my rambling

alrighty.... I am sorry to say this, but I actually kinda agree with Masterus on this one....

If one is really really busy it tends to mean that they are doing well in school and/or extracurricular activities (yes, I am generalizing here, but most of the time it is true).

I am not just saying this because I have been sooo busy to come on (which I have, but whatever). Basically, whether or not you want to admit it, he kinda has a point. It isn't necessarily true for all, however in most cases it is.

I think I am doing well in school, and I am lucky to log onto CC once a week, and even then I only post one or two posts if even.

now, though I agree with what Masterus is saying, I don't exactly agree with the way that he says it (you could be a bit nicer)....

But whatever, it doesn't really matter, and as for proving schedules.... If someone is lying online about their schedule, grades etc. simply to make theirselves feel/look smarter, seriously what is that going to do? Make themselves feel better? 'Cause it won't help when applying to colleges....

So I am now finished ranting on the posts for the last week.... if you disagree, whatever.... I know someone will, because it always sucks when someone tells you that you could do better in school if you got off the computer once in a while.... TRUST ME! the little time that I spend online, I hear my parents asking whether or not I am done with my homework (generally because someone else needs to use it)

BTW.... to the OP, I generally always try to do my best, just because I want to get the highest grades that I am capable of.... SO yes I am the kinda person that is sad when I get like a 99 instead of 100.... It is just the sensation of knowing that you got a PERFECT score (the fact that I am a perfectionist plays into that). Once you get a lot of 100's you want to keep them coming and even a 99 can be disappointing (especially if it is a stupid mistake).

OKAY.... SO ARGUE.... haha 'cause I have a feeling that will happen.

Have your ever considered that some people may not be ready for a regular college or university. Or the COST of a major college or university. Before you deem someone stupid, you should consider all the factors that take place in a person's life that may limit them from going to a top university. Quite honestly it is extremely pathetic to base one's self esteem on a grade. That is pathetic to say the least. I have a 5.4 weighted gpa and I'm ranked 1/675 I have a list of activities that I have been devoted to for years now and I have leadership positions in most of them. I got over 700 on all my SAT II's and I got a 2360 on my SAT. Yet I would still be the same person that all my friends love despite all of this. So next time think about your choice of words.

There are a lot more successful people who went to a CC or a really low end college, and do a hell of a lot better than those who went to ivy league schools.

stop *****ing and moaning about grades, they are not that Important. You will go to College, Graduate and then be Miserable for the rest of your life, Everybody is and there no exceptions to that. Enjoy your college time, because its the last time you will be free again.

If you think you are going to be happy and not miserable, even with your dream job, you are fooling yourself. Big time.

I'm just curious OP, what college are you going to?

just to let you know, my mom would kill me if I got lots of B's/A-s. I work very hard, and I don't just want to go to a good college, I want to go to a GREAT college. And beleive me, I'm enjoying high school. I make it a rule that I don't do homework on Friday nights, and I go out with my friends at least 2-3 times a week. I'm involved in musical theatre and dance outside of school, which I love. So it is possible to enjoy high school and still get good grades.
(3.6 UW/ 4.2 W)

going out 2 or 3 times a week sounds a like too much is you ask me. i go out once a week (and end up spending half a month's allowance in a few hours). And I don't study on Thursdays or Fridays. (but I'm not exactly a straight A student).

^ well i usually get straight A's and i have a social life lol 2-3 times a week is less than most...i get $40 a week allowance plus i have a job, so i don't really worrry about money...

$40 a week, lucky!

I get half that

well I get $0 so ha....
