sick

Who hates being sick and having to stay home? I despise it so much!!! I should be at school taking the Sunshine State Standards, but I'm at home and feeling like I"m dying!! ahhhhh. So who else hates being sick? :)

I hate it too, wasting precious time.

Same, I hate being sick because I get so behind in school and have tons of homework the day I return to class. I've heard of people getting sick on purpose so that they have an excuse to miss school, but I don't see the point in feeling awful to miss school.

Hm, the ironic part is I never call sick when I'm actually sick, but often call sick when I'm not sick and just have work to finish...

it was fun in grade school where you didn't really have to put any effort into school. now it's just a pain to make up work

Ditto.

I like to give myself a break from school every once in a while when I know there won't be very much to make up the next day.

same here.

It seems like everyone at my school is sick now, but we're all IB nerds, so we force ourselves to go to school. :)

Im in college, and I'm sick right now. It sucks, but I still go to class.

About once a year I'll take a mental health day (although I didn't last year because my work load was too much to handle it...)

From time to time I take days off when i just don't feel like going to school, and I know i won't be missing all that much. I usually don't miss for being sick unless it's really bad.

I usually only miss school if I absolutely have to. Last year I just missed a half day, but that was for an opportunity that I thought was too good to turn down. It ended up being totally worth it too. Anyway, I usually just go to school sick anyway. Just because you're sick doesn't mean you have to go out of your way to impress anybody like usual. Just keep a low profile and cover your mouth when you cough. And perhaps load up on a few decongestants and cough drops if that's your thing.

To the OP: If you feel good enough to get out of bed, you can go to school. That's my theory.

In elementary school and middle school, sure, I liked being home with a fever or a cold, but once you're in high school, fever means sucking it up because vomiting in the nurses office IS worth not having to make up work. Sad, eh?

same here!

Last year I took two "Mental health" days because I had overloaded myself and just couldn't do it anymore. My mom actually forced me to stay home. XD

Every once in a while I'll take the day off and just relax, especially around midterms/finals when all we're doing is reviewing and I can do that on my own.

Some of you who go to school when you're throwing up probably shouldn't You'll get everyone else sick.
