Is doing the siemens competition prestigious in itself? If I participated in it, but didn’t go to Regionals or Nationals, would it still be good on my college apps and would it be really good if I entered?
No, because I’m pretty sure anyone can participate in Siemens as there don’t seem to be any hard requirements to enter (besides being a US citizen or permanent resident in good standing).
But if you went even to the next level is it worth it? for admissions and apps
@rdeng2614
If you won an award at Siemens, then yes it will look good.
Participating itself does not look too good as anyone can participate. It shows some interest in the sciences but that’s about it.
But, winning an award looks better as it makes you stand out from the thousands of participants. It shows that you were able to take your interest to a very high level.
What other prestigious science competitions are there that you know of? And can you tell me of them? @rdeng2614
Intel Science Fair, Google Science Fair, Physics Olympiad, Bio Olympiad, Chem Olympiad and much more.
I plan to do the bio Olympiad this year in high school so that’s covered. I want to do things that are medically related science projects like research and summer programs and things like that @rdeng2614
