<p>I really thought the Siemens Westinghouse was very very prestigious. In the like 2000, a Harvard adcom wrote a book and he claimed that the Westinghouse was looked upon extremely favorably in the process. He also claimed the same for Boys and Girls club of America because all the presidents were in it.</p>
<p>Oh, I thought Torcher was being sarcastic when he said that. Anyway, prestigious or not, getting an ipod/camera/digital picture frame is awesome by itself. Like dashboard, I could really use an ipod too since I never had one either.</p>

Siemens is very impressive. BTW, Intel used to be the Westinghouse. They dropped it, Intel picked up what used to be Westinghouse, and Siemens-Westinghouse (now just Siemens) started a new competition.</p>
<p>Packages will come in a week or two. I think S got his right after returning from the Regional Finals, but a lot of the SFs got theirs sooner.</p>
<p>Just saying – just because one does very well in these competitions does not mean you’ll get in everywhere. S was accepted at his top choice schools (both EA), but was rejected/waitlisted at others some consider higher up the food chain.</p>
<p>Im just saying, wouldn’t it make sense for these Competition winners to have a higher chance of going to MIT and Caltech because they are heavily research based and … host the competition?</p>
<p>^also harvard, princeton, stanford, and yale, hopefully!!! my understanding is that even a semifinalist status can significantly boost your chances at these schools, although being a siemens winner is only one component of your application.</p>

<p>Have any of the Regional Finalists received a call from the College Board since the release of finalists? I just got a message today, but haven’t called back yet. I am curious as to why they are calling – presumbly to ask questions obviously, but idk. </p>

<p>You get information about time, date, which place you’re going to, travel arrangements, what you need to do, etc. Also, You’re supposed to get an email at some point today that has a link with a pass and username. </p>
