Siemens Competition

hey guys...i have a HUGE dilemma.

i wanted to participate in Siemen's Competition this upcoming fall... I have been doing A LOT of research at a local university this past summer. Buttttt, I did find one problem. Siemens only allows US Citizens/ Green Card Holders to participate, but I do not fall into either of those categories. I have been living in New Jersey for the past 12 years and have applied for my green card for the past 12 years, but I still have not received it.

Do you guys know how strict the Siemens in checking to see if a student is a citizen or not? Do u think i could pass the system by giving my Dad's Social Security number (he holds a H4 visa that includes a Social Security number)....

Ughh this is really frustrating me cause my green card is going to arrive in like 4 months but the deadline is only like 2 months away. If you guys could offer any advice on this topic it would be great. Thanks for reading this.

Well, given that any potential winner is awarded a large scholarship, I’m sure they will demand proof from you. It’d be nonsensical to not do so.

I know this is quite late, but if you get to any level beyond the preliminary round Siemens will check to make sure you are a citizen/green-card holder in order to give you your money/prize. Sorry about that–and best of luck with everything else!
