Hi all!

So I officially know where I'm going, after months of agonizing waiting and anxiety. For a long time, I thought the Brown PLME was the only place for me...until I visited Siena for my interview/tour/luncheon. I'm ashamed now to say that I underestimated Siena--I had expected just a standard interview, tour, etc. When I got to Siena, however, all my preconceived notions and misconceptions flew out the window. It was obvious from the outset that everyone I met was so attentive and knew me well from my application file--that had never happened before in my college experience. It really meant a lot to be treated like a person and not just another file or number.

I really loved everything about Siena. It's like a slightly bigger version of my high school, which also emphasizes Franciscan tradition and values, and it has that sense of family and community that I love and cherish so much. That is only one of the many aspects of Siena that makes the transition to college slightly less scary and difficult--the fact that Siena is all about the personal touch. From the way the admissions office looks and feels more like a little home, to the handwritten note I received from one of the admissions directors, to the email my tour guide sent me while I was waiting to hear back...every little thing that happened along the way made me realize that Siena is an amazing place. I know I'm in for 8 great years with an amazing group of people--4 at Siena, 4 at Albany Med. No MCAT, woo!

After that day, I was honestly torn between Siena and Brown. If I got into both Brown and Siena's med programs, I would feel awful choosing Brown over Siena because I fell in love with Siena and it really seemed like I was wanted there. My interview went really well at Brown too, but...I mean, my Siena interview was actually a lot of *fun/i, so I knew that had to be a good sign. Fortunately, Brown made the decision a lot easier for me by denying me! XD

Well that was long-winded! I've managed to ramble yet again...I started this thread to ask if anyone here is going to the same program this fall, and see, I eventually got to the point! I'd love to meet some of my fellow Saints and Siena/Albany Med students! I might have even met some of you on my interview day...

I'm so excited! :)
