Is it true that SigEp doesn’t haze? It’s supposedly the only fraternity that doesn’t haze but I find it hard to believe that no frat hazes behind closed doors. What is the reputation of this fraternity? Is there a fraternity that recognizes academics and brotherhood or is that an oxymoron?

Don’t know much about SigEp but if you want a good academic frat, PIKE is pretty well known for being smart

^^^ Agreed, all frats ‘qualify’ potential pledges, so yes, some don’t haze, but SigE is not considered a rad/top frat,
but Pike is considered pretty much top of the greek life at UofA, especially now Fiji is gone

Frats lie big time—they all haze. Don’t believe them when they state no hazing. Theta Chi claimed they don’t haze but got shut down for paddling last year: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/university-arizona-shuts-frat-alleged-paddling-article-1.2230509
Delta Sigma Phi was only 1-2 years old and didn’t even have a house and they claimed no hazing but got shut down last year for hazing alcohol till some passed-out: http://www.kvoa.com/story/28625707/delta-sigma-phi-fraternity-closes-chapter-at-university-of-arizona-for-alleged-hazing-alcohol-use
SAE is suspended indefinitely for hazing (although they didn’t specifically claim no hazing—it’s SAE for Pete’s sake): http://www.wildcat.arizona.edu/article/2015/04/sae-chapter-suspended-indefinitely
TKE was hazing alcohol and got kicked out in 2012 but is returning this year. Delta Chi also got the boot: http://tucson.com/news/local/ua-strips-rd-frat-of-recognition-this-year/article_0f0b627f-a4d2-58e0-954a-a0c7ff25a8e4.html
Phi Delta Theta is a dry fraternity so they all smoke pot.
The university is tough on hazing and alcohol violations yet the frats continue to do both.
